Parishioner Charles "Chuck" Wilson passed into the arms of the Lord on June 7. A visitation service will be held on June 13 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at OLMC, with the Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 a.m. Please keep his family in your prayers. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let the perpetual light shine upon him.

It's the Catholic Church's birthday! The word Pentecost is Greek and it means "50th day." Fifty days after Easter Sunday, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and their followers, and the beginning of their Earthly ministry to make disciples of all nations. Pentecost is also a Jewish holiday, which the Jews use to celebrate the end of Passover. Jews celebrate the gift of the law to Moses at Mt. Sinai on this day. In any discernment of God's call, we need to call on the Holy Spirit to come to fill and inspire us. Pentecost reminds us to do this not just on one feast during the year, but every day.

We are in need of volunteers to help with Confirmation prep on Saturday, June 15, and Monday, June 17. All volunteer openings are at OLMC. Volunteers are needed to set-up the Parish Hall and church, prepare meals in the kitchen, clean-up areas, and greet sponsors and Confirmation candidates. Imagine being involved in the lives of couples entering the Sacred State of Matrimony. Do you want to be part of the most important and special day for these couples? The Wedding Ministry is looking for you! We have four teams of wedding coordinators and are in need of more volunteers. Must be available on Friday night and Saturday. The Solemnity of Corpus Christi celebrates the body of Christ, which Jesus offers to the Father for the salvation of the world. In this sense, it is a celebration of Christ who is both victim and priest in the Eucharist. This Solemnity’s celebration of the body of Christ also calls the Church to deeper participation in the mission of Christ.

On March 9, our OLMC Children's Choir participated in the 2019 Indianapolis Choral Festival and Mass. Singers joined together as one combined choir to sing a liturgical music repertoire spanning 1500 years — from Gregorian chant to music of the twenty-first century. We are excited to reveal the project for our Dovetail Campaign! We cannot, however, begin collecting funds for our project until we have met our diocesan Fruitful Harvest goal. OLMC parishioners will receive 2018 Fruitful Harvest Pledge Cards, along with a brochure outlining our parish Dovetail Campaign, the week of November 12. Our Antioch High School Ministry held their annual catacomb night. Every year around All Saints' and All Souls' Days, our John Paul II Youth Center is recreated as catacombs for our high school students, reflecting the times when Mass was celebrated underground.
